Memphis Great Start Readiness (4 year old) and Strong Beginnings (3 year old) Preschool Programs are designed to foster learning through play, where children develop crucial social skills, explore their environment, and discover new concepts daily. Our programs focus on promoting social and emotional growth while preparing children for the academic challenges of the future.
As Kindergarten becomes increasingly academic, many families turn to preschool to give their children a head start. Our preschoolers leave with a solid academic foundation and valuable social experiences, setting them on the path to success.
Our preschool programs implement Creative Curriculum which encourages active participation between teachers and children. This hands-on approach to learning is supported by the Teaching Strategies (TS) Gold, ensuring each child's progress aligns with the Creative Curriculum framework
The Great Start Readiness Program and Strong Beginnings Program covers essential areas for school readiness.
Here's what your child will experience in our high-quality preschool programs:
- Listening to and telling stories
- Singing songs and making music
- Reciting rhymes
- Learning letters and sounds
- Sorting, counting and matching
- Recognizing and writing numbers
- Engaging in cooperative play
- Participating in physical activities
Join us at Memphis Preschool, where learning through play sets the foundation for a lifetime of academic success and social growth.
High-quality, statewide preschool is possible - just look to Michigan
The St. Clair County RESA coordinates the consortium of Great Start Readiness Programs (GSRP) throughout the county. The school district does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, religion, height, weight, or marital status in its programs and activities. In addition, arrangements can be made to ensure that the lack of English language proficiency is not a barrier to admission or participation.
